We’re only a few weeks out from the launch of Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti if release date rumours hold water. With the launch so close, murmurs of potential pricing are naturally coming out of the woodwork. Word on the street is that Team Green’s latest additions to its Blackwell roster may arrive with familiar price points.
Rumours circulating on the Board Channels forum claim that Nvidia intends to adopt a similar pricing strategy for GeForce RTX 5060 Ti as it did for GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. Should this result in mirrored MSRPs, then the new graphics card would cost $399-$499.
As a reminder, Nvidia is apparently planning to launch GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with two different memory capacities, specifically 8GB and 16GB, again like GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. The smaller buffer size should naturally demand a lower price ($399) with the larger naturally carrying a higher a cost ($499).
Nvidia hasn’t formally acknowledge the existence of GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, so it’s important to digest all the above information with a due degree of scepticism. While there’s little doubt in my mind that the graphics card is on the way, I have to hope that these pricing rumours aren’t totally accurate.
Both GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB and 16GB didn’t enjoy the warmest of receptions, primarily down to their pricing and perceived value. Should Nvidia repeat the same strategy for GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, the graphics card will likely receive similar treatment if not an even colder shoulder from the market. Bearing in mind that GeForce RTX 5070 hasn’t made as big a splash as its predecessor, I feel that a degree of course correction is necessary.
Much as generational improvements will define GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, it must also serve as a sufficient response to AMD Radeon RX 9060 Series graphics cards if it hopes to dominate the lower-end of the market. It’s unclear when exactly these two pixel pushers will face one another but it should make for an interesting bout.
