Gigabyte has unveiled its compact Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card, built to fit inside small-form-factor PC generally found in office places. A great opportunity to upgrade one of those cheap Core i5 or i7 Dell machines that can’t fit nowadays massive GPUs.
The RTX 5060 OC Low Profile is the smallest RTX 50 Series card in Gigabyte’s roster. It measures 182mm x 69mm x 36mm, making it half the volume of the second-smallest alternative, the RTX 5060 WindForce. Most importantly, the 69mm width allows it to fit inside all sorts of compact chassis, including the ones used by Dell OptiPlex or HP EliteDesk-type machines.

The combination of its small size and lower price – the RTX 5060 is currently the cheapest of its series – makes it a prime option to upgrade one of the aforementioned Dell and HP PCs. The latter can be found below £100 on second-hand markets, powered by 7th or 8th-Gen Intel CPUs rocking up to six still-competent cores. And even if said PCs don’t have a dedicated 8-pin power cable, you can opt for a Molex to 8-pin adapter. That said, if you choose a machine with full-size PCIe cutouts, Gigabyte bundles an additional metal bracket, ensuring seamless adaptability.
To best use its reduced cooling area, the brand uses a triple-fan setup, combined with composite copper heatpipes and server-grade thermal conductive gel. Gigabyte claims that this design allows for enhanced heat transfer, enabling high performance at lower temperatures. Add to that high-quality and durable components, and you can see why this tiny card has nothing to envy from its bigger siblings.

Regarding specs, Gigabyte didn’t share any more details than Nvidia, thus we only retain the presence of 8GB of 28Gbps GDDR7 memory running on a 128-bit bus, and a recommendation for 450W PSUs. That said, rumours claim that the GPU may carry 3,840 CUDA cores clocked at 2,497MHz boost, sharing the 145W TGP with the memory. Lastly, despite its low profile, the card offers a complete set of video outputs, including three DisplayPort 2.1b plus one HDMI 2.1b, all usable at the same time for multi-monitor setups.
The RTX 5060 OC Low Profile is scheduled to be released in May at an unknown price. You can expect around $299, which is the official Nvidia MSRP for this GPU.
