AMD has seemingly settled on a June release window for its upcoming mid-range GPUs. The brand’s Radeon RX 9060 series cards should hit shelves two weeks after Computex according to recent leaks. Fears of US tariffs may be playing a role for the later launch, but at least this should allow for plenty of stock come release.
According to X user AnhPhuH, AMD is planning to announce its RX 9060 XT GPU during Computex 2025 which runs May 20-23, followed by a launch two weeks later, i.e. early June. This supports previous rumours which points to a May release. Leaving a month between Nvidia’s equivalent product may cost Team Red some sales, but if the rumoured pricing is correct, the wait could be worth it.
Additionally, YouTuber Moore’s Law Is Dead indicates that AMD has pulled its RX 9060 XT marketing materials from their online stores, likely to make some last-minute updates countering Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Series launch. In other words, the Red Team is once more reacting to Nvidia, which is not bad for consumers per se, assuming it means lower than the initially planned pricing.
MLID also claims that RTX 5060 Ti stock is very low, with some retailers not receiving any cards at all. If true, this provides AMD with time to prepare before launching the RX 9060 XT to build up stocks like with the RX 9070 series. Apparently, fears of US tariffs play a role in all of this, as brands anticipate sudden changes in product costs, which would drastically shift the value balance.
In terms of specs, the GPU at the heart of Radeon RX 9060 XT essentially looks like a Radeon RX 9070 XT cut in half according to recent leaks. It’s too early to say how well this amount of firepower will hold up against RTX 5060 Ti but we shouldn’t have to wait much longer to find out.
