AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE specs leak suggest it’ll bridge the gap between RX 9060 Series

Appearing less-powerful than Radeon RX 9070, this Great Radeon Edition could provide value through its affordability.

Further alleged details about Radeon RX 9070 GRE have come to light, following initial details about the graphics card earlier this month. While AMD is yet to acknowledge the existence of the model, we may now already know almost all of its core specifications.

Videocardz claims to have acquired a spec sheet for RX 9070 GRE, revealing all-important qualities about its GPU. Furthermore, the outlets sources indicate that the card should hit store shelves sometime in Q2 2025. Whether it will see a release outside of China, however, remains unknown.

Falling behind Navi 48 XTX/XT, RX 9070 GRE will apparently feature a Navi 48 XL GPU rather than a Navi 44 variant like we’ll see on RX 9060 Series cards. According to the leak, the die will feature 3,072 streaming processors making for a 25% reduction versus RX 9070 XT. Meanwhile, boost clock frequency will top out at 2.79GHz.

Echoing previous rumours, Videocardz describes RX 9070 GRE as sporting a 192-bit memory bus complemented by 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM. However, it provides further insight into the memory configuration by revealing its modules will run at 18Gb/s, netting a total bandwidth of 432GB/s.

Were AMD to launch RX 9070 GRE globally, then a $499 price point seems likely. There’s still no word on how much the brand plans to charge for RX 9060 Series cards, but $399 and below seems like an obvious target given how much Nvidia is charging for RTX 5060 Ti.

The earliest we’ll likely get an official word on RX 9070 GRE is during Computex 2025, which begins in just under a month.
