AMD releases Radeon Adrenalin 22.3.2 drivers

Still waiting for Enhanced Sync black screen issues to be fixed.

AMD has issued another graphics driver for March 2022. Hot on the heels of feature-packed 22.3.1, update 22.3.2 is a relatively sedate release with support for Ghostwire: Tokyo, as well optimisations for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and a new Vulkan extension.

As with most game launches, GPU manufacturers add support to ensure better stability and performance. This time around, Ghostwire: Tokyo is in the spotlight. Although AMD’s release notes make no indication of any performance gains in Tango Gameworks’ action adventure, we would be happy enough with a stable game/frame rate. A somewhat rare occurrence in today’s world of unfinished, bugriddled games.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ players can expect up to a 23 per cent increase in performance at 4K Badass settings using RX 6700XT, RX 6800XT or RX 6900XT GPUs.

Some needed fixes are present too. Cyberpunk 2077 no longer has lighting bugs indoors using RX 570, plus Hades and Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin crashes are said to be a thing of the past.

Finally, support for Vulkan extension ‘VK_KHR_workgroup_memory_explicit_layout’ has been added to aid memory optimisation on all supported hardware.

Radeon Adrenalin 22.3.2 driver can be downloaded via AMD’s website or directly from within Radeon software.

Full list of fixed issues is below:

  • While playing Cyberpunk 2077 on some AMD Graphics Products such as Radeon RX 570 Graphics, some users may observe an issue where indoor areas appear darker than expected.
  • Game crash may be observed by users on some AMD Graphics Products such as Radeon™ RX 6900 XT while playing Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.
  • Stuttering may be experienced while playing Genshin Impact with video playback or encoding on some AMD Graphics Products such as Radeon RX 6900 XT.
  • Using the AMD Software hotkey to open and close Radeon Overlay may introduce stuttering while playing some games such as Grim Dawn.
  • During Hades gameplay, some users on AMD Graphics Products such as Radeon RX 6800 may experience game crash.

Known issues:

  • Some users on Windows 10 operating system may observe the absence of the windows transparency aero effect.
  • Using Radeon Super Resolution on 2560×1600 resolution displays may produce a system hang. A temporary workaround is to set the display Scaling Mode to Full Panel.
  • Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.
  • Radeon performance metrics and logging features may intermittently report extremely high and incorrect memory clock values.
