Upping visual and specification stakes in the gaming monitor world, AOC has teamed up with German studio Porsche Design to release a 32in mini-LED 4K 144Hz screen imbued with Display HDR 1400 certification. All this goodness comes with a $1,799 fee. Pre-orders start now for delivery in June.
Agon Pro PD32M uses a frameless design to house a high-specification panel offering 97 per cent of the DCI-P3 colour space. The 4K 144Hz screen is outfitted with adaptive synchronisation for tear-free gaming, though you’ll need a monster graphics card to drive the upper echelons of framerate support.
AOC reckons the display achieves a peak 1,600-nit brightness for a great HDR experience, no doubt helped by use of nascent mini-LED technology. A gamer aesthetic is enhanced by the latest iteration of illumination on the rear, dubbed LightFX, alongside dual-sided integrated headset holders.
Agon Pro PD32M has most bases covered. A couple of 8W speakers are DTS Sound certified whilst inputs include two HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort, one USB Type-C, four USB 3.2 Type-A, and a headphone jack.
Big and bold, PD32M measures 613mm x 290mm x 715mm and tips the scales at a substantial 11.52kg. A nice touch is the trapezoidal aluminium stand designed in the style of Porsche steering wheels.
Keeping with other high-end Agon displays, this one also has the wireless Quick Switch which flits between a trio of presets if you can’t be bothered to delve into the OSD. There’s no suggestion of a regular mains cable input – instead there’s a power inlet on the right-hand side – so expect a power brick in the package.
This one looks to be a corker. Now where’s that spare £1,500?
