Rumours point to Gigabyte planning for three Radeon RX 7900 XT, four RX 7900 XTX, and eight GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics cards, including models such as Eagle, Gaming OC, and Aorus Master – the latter missing on AMD’s offerings.
Spotted by @harukaze5719 on Twitter, Gigabyte has submitted multiple references of RTX 4070 Ti, RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX graphic cards to the Eurasian Economic Commission regulatory office (EEC). Unfortunately, the red team seems to be a bit lacking, with only basic models, probably to fit within AMD’s $900 to $1,000 MSRP.

As a reminder, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is rumoured/expected by many to be simply a rebadged RTX 4080 12GB which was abruptly cancelled by Nvidia about a month ago due to a massive backlash. If this turns out to be the case, we don’t know how low Nvidia is willing to drop the price in order to fit this lower range naming. Rumours point to a $1,000 price tag, probably including VAT, in China, meaning somewhere near $900 in the US.
If this price proves to be true, the new RTX may have a hard time persuading buyers who spy RTX 3090s below $800, or even new for around $1,100. And we’re talking about a card featuring 24GB of memory against the RTX 4070 Ti’s 12GB. Such conjecture doesn’t take into account AMD’s own Radeon RX 7000 Series that have been officially announced at or below the $1,000 MSRP mark for reference models.
With all that said, the RTX 4070 Ti will most likely still beat the RX 7900 Series in RT-heavy games. And with its still-acceptable performance according to Nvidia’s (RTX 4080 12GB) benchmarks, RT gaming won’t be nigh-on useless as on low-end cards.
No matter how Nvidia ends up pricing this card, you’re getting an AD104 GPU with 7,680 cores, running at 2,310MHz base and 2,610MHz boost, coupled to 12GB of 21Gbps GDDDR6X memory. As a comparison, AMD’s RX 7900 XT is armed with 10,752 cores – not comparable between architectures – running at 2,000MHz base and 2,400MHz boost, alongside a larger 20GB of 20Gbps GDDR6 memory.
Finally, AMD’s contenders are coming December 13, while Nvidia’s is a bit further out, rumoured for January 5, 2023.
