Cooler Master has announced the Hyper 622 Halo CPU cooler featuring half-a-dozen heatpipes, two 120mm RGB fans, and a nickel-plated base in a twin-tower form factor.
Available in black or white, the Hyper 622 Halo is the first in the series to include two fin stacks alongside six copper heatpipes. The entire cooler is coated with the same colour, for a nice all-around finish, and even the fans have a similar hue, which is not always the case when comparing the colour of plastics against metal.
The six (probably 6mm) heatpipes all meet at a polished nickel-plated base offering better contact than direct-touch alternatives, before transferring heat to two moderately dense aluminium fin stacks. These fins are then cooled by two 120mm rifle-bearing ARGB fans rated for 160,000 hours, rotating from 650 to 2,050RPM, delivering a maximum of 51.88CFM airflow and 2.89mmH₂O air pressure at 27dBA of noise.
With the fans installed, the Hyper 622 Halo measures 125mm (L) x 137mm (W) x 157mm (H), including 40mm of clearance for RAM modules – the frontal fan can be moved to the rear to install higher memory modules.
The Hyper 622 Halo is compatible with Intel’s LGA1700, LGA1200, LGA1151, LGA1150, LGA1155, LGA1156, plus AMD’s AM5 and AM4 sockets, backed by two years of warranty as standard.
While the manufacturer is yet to unveil official pricing, looking at the current competition in the dual-tower segment, the Hyper 622 Halo should retail around the £60 mark in order to remain competitive. Any higher and performance will need to be truly impressive to justify the cost.
