Nvidia has released the GeForce Game Ready 546.33 driver featuring support for three new games alongside GFE settings for a bunch more. There also aren’t many bugs to fix this time around, which is a good sign.
This new driver brings support for Fortnite Chapter 5, Squad, and The Finals, a promising first-person shooter game made by former Dice developers. It also includes GeForce Experience settings (GFE) for six games. These are meant to help you select settings best suited to your system performance. Generally, they’re pretty well calibrated.
Most notably this update adds GFE settings just a day after The Day Before developer ceased operations. This happened following a catastrophically buggy and unfinished Early Access launch which sparked a huge uproar in the community, calling it a scam. It’s a game that many have warned against, stating that it seemed too good to be true. THis is despite being one of Steam’s most wishlisted games at one point.
It’s unfortunate that Fntastic, the game developer, has failed to deliver on its promises, wasting such a unique opportunity. Many games could only dream of having such hype. This pushed Steam to intervene and accept refunds even from players who have crossed the 2-hour refund deadline. At least it’s another reminder to not get overhyped and not to buy promises.
Getting back to our subject, this update has also fixed a couple of issues. Namely, the muted colours of Discord streams and Nvidia icon multiplication in the system tray. The keen-eyed among you may have noticed that many of these changes were already available on the previous GeForce hotfix.
Lastly, this time only a single bug remains unfixed. If you’ve noticed display issues when watching Netflix using Microsoft Edge browser, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer for a fix.
