LG has finally put pricing on its Dual-Hz gaming monitor, and it doesn’t come cheap. The brand has also released the full specs list, including the Pixel Sound technology for improved immersion.
Unveiled at the end of last December, the new UltraGear lineup brings a new way of using monitors dependent on your needs. Fancy some esports gaming? Just select the 1080p resolution to unlock the full 480Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, when it’s time to try those graphically demanding titles, trade back some speed for a much higher 4K resolution. To put it simply, the UltraGear 32GS95UE is able to switch between 480Hz at 1080p or 240Hz at 4K.
While we may see other models carrying this feature, for now, LG is only launching a flat 32in variant. Powered by the brand’s own WOLED panels, this monitor is rated for 1,500,000:1 contrast and 275nits brightness. Typical for this panel type. Additionally, LG is claiming support for 98.5% of the DCI-P3 gamut plus 10-bit colour depth. Not to forget the 0.03ms GtG response time.
As you can expect, this OLED gets the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification for its excellent black levels. Moreover, the 32GS95UE supports both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync to eliminate screen tearing. Lastly, akin to some TVs, this time, sound waves are emitted from behind the OLED panel directed at the user. LG say that this method provides a fuller and richer audio.
On the back, we find two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, plus a USB hub. Including DisplayPort 2.1 would have been nice. Ergonomics-wise, the stand adjusts height, tilt (-10° to +15°), swivel (-15° to +15°), plus pivot, and carries a 100x100mm VESA mount.
The UltraGear 32GS95UE OLED gaming monitor is available to pre-order at $1,399.99 from LG’s store, backed by a two-year warranty. LG expects to start shipments by April 15.
