Enermax has announced multiple ATX 3.1 PSUs covering a wide range of performance tiers and capacities. The brand plans at least six series covering distinct needs, from Platimax D.F.12 to the monster Platimax 2,400W, passing by a special edition in collaboration with overclocker Splave.
Each model targets a different efficiency to suit as many price tiers as possible, including 80 Plus Titanium, Platinum, and Gold ratings. These series also support fan-less modes, which turn off the blowers under low loads, eliminating noise and reducing dust accumulation.
MaxTytan Digital
The MaxTytan Digital is an ATX3.1-ready PSU delivering up to 1,650W of power while boasting an 80 Plus Titanium certification. In order to get the best of both performance and acoustics, this model incorporates a semi-fanless design, where the fan remains static until the load exceeds 60%. Additionally, the MaxTytan Digital is equipped with a built-in screen on the side to display the current output wattage. Though a bit gimmicky in day-to-day use, it’s handy when overclocking or first building a machine to get a quick idea about power consumption.
This series will also offer higher capacities reaching 2,000W, though at a lower efficiency rating: 80 Plus Gold. Also, these are only available for homes with 230V outlets, which only some countries support.
Platimax
You know outright that Platimax means business when you spot its dual 12v-2×6 connectors – each capable of handling 600W. To ensure ample power even on multi-GPU setups, this series offers up to 2,400W spread through a huge variety of connectors. There isn’t room for a single extra connector, all space is used. Talking of which, this power box is 18cm deep, helping it fit inside mid-tower cases too, if needed.
While not as efficient as the MaxTytan Digital, the Platimax still rocks an 80 Plus Platinum certification. However, when it comes to silent operation, we yet again get a semi-fanless design that calls for active cooling above 60% load. In other words, you can run a 1,440W PC in fan-less mode. Impressive.
Platimax D.F. Ultra
Platimax D.F. Ultra, on the other hand, targets workstation computers with its 1,600W capacity and dinky 14cm size. Though, of course, nothing stops you from installing one in your gaming rig. Once more we get a fan-less mode, but under a lower 50% load. Still excellent, as most machines don’t even reach that. Enermax didn’t share any efficiency features for this series.
Platimax D.F. 12
Platimax D.F. 12 is yet another ATX 3.1 PSU, but this time at a very compact 12cm size. Ideal for SFF machines, this little box has enough juice to drive any consumer graphics card and CPU thanks to its 1,000W capacity. And that while boasting an 80 Plus Platinum efficiency rating, so you can be sure power isn’t wasted generating heat. Thanks to its efficient nature, this model can remain completely silent until the load exceeds 60%.
Note that Enermax also plans to release 750W and 850W models, for those who own mid-to-high-range PCs.
Revolution D.F. X Pro
The Revolution D.F. X Pro series is aimed at gamers with its wide choice of capacities, including 750W, 850W, 1,000W, and 1,200W. While not as efficient as some of the above, its 80 Plus Gold certification is sufficient for gamers, especially if the build targets around 50% load, such as a 500W machine using a 1,000W PSU model. Talking of which, this series too features a fan-less mode, as long as lead remains below 40%.
Regarding size, the Revolution D.F. X Pro lineup sits at 14cm deep, putting it in the middle of the pack.
Revolution D.F. X Pro Splave edition
The Revolution D.F. X Pro Splave edition, as its name implies, is a special version of the D.F. X Pro made in collaboration with overclocker Splave. It features an exclusive 5VSB discharging function which allows the motherboard to restart instantly in the event of a crash. You don’t want to waste time on those overclocking events. Being a special edition, Enermax will only launch 1,000W and 1,200W units.
Lastly, all six series are ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliant, thus features at least a single 600W 12V-2×6 cable/connector for Nvidia’s RTX 3000 and 4000 GPUs. They are also all able to handle up to 235% power excursion, to keep the machine running even under high transient spikes.
Additionally, select models will be equipped with what Enermax calls Dust-free Rotation technology, which combines a self-cleaning function and a 20-second fan rotation after shutting down the machine to cool the components. Enermax will share more details about these products at Computex, so stay tuned.
