Usually, shopping for SSDs comes with a choice: capacity or speed. Getting both in an NVMe drive is often a luxury many can’t afford, including yours truly. Fortunately, Samsung 990 Pro 4TB is at its lowest price in over six months, and there’s no fiddly coupon to distract you.

Amazon US shows a phenomenal 35% off, bringing the brilliant 4TB model under $300. We have seen it briefly cheaper during Black Friday 2023, but that deal didn’t last long. This is the first time it’s fallen this low since before New Year’s Day. Don’t deliberate for too long, though, as it’s a limited discount.

It’s a similar story across the pond as 10% off brings the same drive down to £278.50 on Amazon UK. Tracking websites will tell you this is its most affordable since last year’s Black Friday bonanza, but we saw it slip a bit lower with a coupon last month. Europe fluctuates a little more, with between 10% and 30% off. France holds the lowest at €324.99, but you’re best checking for yourself.

As a previous-generation flagship, it doesn’t have the latest PCIe 5 tech under the hood, but it pushes the Gen 4 standard to its limits. You won’t find much better with 7,450MB/s sequential read speeds and 6,900MB/s sequential write. Check out our 4/5 Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD review for our thoughts on the series.

Whether you’re getting it for your gaming PC or to slot into your PS5, I recommend you give it a shot. Amazon covers you with a 30-day money-back guarantee that’ll refund you, no questions asked if you’re not happy.
