Monitor maker Koorui has unveiled one of its CES 2025 products, a 750Hz beast that should clear some distance from upcoming 500Hz QD-OLEDs. Built with image clarity in mind, this monitor is purpose-made for FPS and MOBA players.
Simply dubbed the G7, this 24.5in gaming monitor specifically targets esports and competitive players with its 750Hz refresh rate. This puts it 210Hz ahead of even the fastest displays you can buy, which max out at 540Hz. Needless to say, with this bad boy you shouldn’t miss a beat, tracking every enemy move, assuming your skills allow. This outstanding speed is also complemented by a quick 0.5ms pixel response time, which should help with ghosting.
However, as you can guess, such a refresh rate comes at the cost of resolution which remains at 1080p. Not an issue for esports players who would prefer a lower resolution to unlock more frames anyway, but 1440p would definitely have tempted more users. Such is the give and take of technological advancement. Lastly, connectivity should include three HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, plus a 3.5mm audio jack.
Funnily enough, though gaming is generally linked to graphics cards’ performance, with the G7, your CPU could also become a bottleneck on the road to maximum frame rates. While you can max out 240Hz, 360Hz, and to some extent even 480Hz displays using almost any modern CPU, 750Hz likely requires a high-end chip to run all the calculations fast enough.
Speed aside, the brand advertises 95% DCI-P3 gamut coverage and DisplayHDR 400 support, but these are not a priority for the target audience. According to Koorui, this wider colour reproduction is possible thanks to the use of a Quantum Dot film on top of the TN LCD panel. An unusual combo for sure.
Though the brand has yet to reveal pricing for the G7, it expects it to enter mass production this year. With competing 540Hz models ranging from £500 to £750, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it above £1,000. That said, if the competition gets access to these new panels too, pricing should logically end up lower. Regardless, I bet many enthusiasts are already waiting for this one.
