MSI takes productivity up a notch with new smart monitors

They're smarter than I am, at the very least.

Returning to work after some lovely holiday downtime is never the easiest, but MSI makes the transition as smooth as possible with its new productivity gear. Announced during CES 2025, there’s plenty to get you back in the game, from intuitive monitors to an AI PC.

MSI Modern MD272UPSW

One particular trend I’m glad to see in 2025 is the rise of Smart Monitors. Combining the best of both smart TVs and PC screens, these beauties are primed and ready for a home office.

Hidden beneath MSI Modern MD272UPSW’s colourful 4K IPS panel is Google TV, enhancing your display with all the apps and functions you’d expect from your television. While you might instantly chalk this up as a dangerous distraction from your work, it can be a blessing when you’re on break and comes with a few neat guarantees.

Firstly, the built-in speakers are as clear as can be with Dolby Audio, making your meetings that much smoother. Secondly, it bakes Google Assisstant so you can work smarter, not harder. Of course, voice controls aren’t always perfect, so MSI also provides a remote to make things easier. After all, adjusting volume is a bit more granular when you can increase it notch by notch.

Peek around the back, and you’ll spot a built-in KVM switch that lets you control two devices with a single set of peripherals. If you’ve read any of my monitor reviews, you’ll know how much this means to me having to test several systems. Plus, it’s joined by integrated WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI 2.0b, DisplayPort 1.4a, and USB Type-C with 65W Power Delivery.

MSI Pro MP275QPDG

Why go through the hassle of buying a boat-load of accessories to complete your work setup when you can have everything in one superb productivity bundle? Alongside doubling up as a vertical billboard on the showfloor, the versatility of MSI Pro MP275QPDG impressed us with the sheer amount of goodies it hides underneath.

One glance would have you thinking it’s an ordinary 27in WQHD display, but as MSI’s “Docking Monitor,” it comes with a built-in LAN (RJ45) port, speakers, a 1080p webcam, and a mic. You can stream video calls at beautiful FHD without a single bit of buffering or a bulky headset hanging from your noggin. Connectivity even goes beyond Ethernet, with a single Type-C capable of 98W power delivery and daisy chaining to link several monitors into one efficient setup.

Not that I make a habit of changing my monitor’s orientation too much, but it also sneaks in a novelty with G-sensor technology. Instead of having to change from horizontal to vertical within the Windows settings, this gyro detects your layout and adjusts automatically without you clicking a single button. Sounds like heaven for coders and streamers keeping an eye on chat.

MSI Pro MP242 E10

Pitched as the ideal sidekick while you gallivant, MSI Pro MP242 E10 is an efficient LCD panel you can pack up and take with you on-the-go. It’s impressively swift to set up, with its 10W footprint siphoning power from the same USB-C cable that draws its visuals. Combining everything into a single wire means there’s less to take on your travels.

MSI didn’t reveal its weight, but it’s impressively slender for a 23.8in portable display. There’s no need for a dedicated mount, as its kickstand will prop up on any flat surface. Day or night, the Full HD screen is kind to your eyes with MSI’s EyesErgo technology. Certified by TÜV Rheinland, this feature guarantees flicker-free and low blue light so you can protect your peepers during long work sessions.

MSI Vision RS AI White

Whereas the flagship MSI Vision Elite RS targeted enthusiast hardware with the best Intel 14th Gen and Nvidia Ada Lovelace had to offer, Vision RS AI aims to make the series a little more accessible with the high-end market in its crosshairs.

Peer through the gorgeous curved panoramic tempered glass panel and you’ll see one of MSI’s RGB-clad 360mm CoreLiquid AIO coolers. Beneath it sits the latest Core Ultra 7 265K, with 20 cores (eight P-cores, 12 E-cores) and a 5.5GHz boost clock. This brings with it an updated LGA1851 chipset with new features like WiFi 7.

Graphics scale back to RTX 4080 Super, but it’s still plenty for anything you throw at it in 2025. Besides, you can always grab an RTX 50 Series graphics card separately if you think it’s a good investment thanks to Vision RS AI White’s upgrade-friendly design.

MSI didn’t tell us how much this bleached build costs, but I imagine it’ll run a pretty penny fully stacked with up to 128GB DDR5 RAM. For reference, the flagship Vision Elite RS has a $4,300 MSRP. Using this as a ballpark, my bet would be in the $3,500 margin.
