As enthusiasts, we’re always eyeing up the next upgrade and ways to improve our rig. One of my favourite additions to my personal setup is an ARGB cable, and the Lian Li Strimmer V2 24-pin motherboard extension is currently the cheapest it’s ever been.
Interestingly, this one doesn’t show up as a discount, but it’s only just fallen to under $50 on Amazon US – its best price yet. It’s a similar deal across the Atlantic, as the colourful lead costs just a couple of quid more than its lowest at £53.98.
Lian Li Strimmer V2 (24-pin)
Grab a highly customisable addressable RGB motherboard extention cable to spruce up your system with a bit of personalised colour.
Rather than replacing your motherboard cable entirely, Lian Li Strimmers are extension cables that work with any 24-pin. This means you’ll need to be mindful of how you tuck the excess beneath your grommets, but you don’t need to worry about length as it’ll reach your ports with ample room.
I have the first-generation model in my system, but Lian Li has since improved the brightness thanks to thinner diffuser light strips. It’s also added L-Connect 3 support so you can configure colours via software. This is a blessing considering you’ll inevitably tuck away the physical controller behind the motherboard, where it’s not the most accessible.
Personally, I like to theme my rig and have gone with a blue and pink colourway for no particular reason. However, you can cater to your mood, switching from static colours to an assortment of smooth RGB animations. You have your usual suspects, like waves and ripples, but Twinkle, Bullet Stack, and Crossover are sure to give your system a bespoke look. There’s even a voice activated mode that’ll react to music for added novelty.
Currently, I only have the 24-pin motherboard model in my system, but you can sync it with Lian Li’s GPU cables for a more complete aesthetic. There are dual and triple 8-pin versions, as well as an updated 12VHPWR connector to work with RTX 40 and upcoming RTX 50 Series graphics cards. They’re not currently discounted as far as I can see, but you can check out your local deals by following this link to Amazon.
Like most products, the retailer gives you the ability to return it within 30 days if you’re not happy, granting you a full refund. This means you can try it out in your system and if you don’t like it, send it back. No harm done. In the meantime, I recommend you follow Club386 on Google News so you can be the first to grab the deals we unearth each and every day.
