Following its announcement that GeForce RTX 5070 would launch in February, Nvidia hasn’t narrowed down when exactly the graphics card will hit store shelves. With just over two weeks to go until the month is out, the company has little time to hit this launch window. However, new rumours suggest a delay could be on the horizon that would pit the pixel pusher against Radeon RX 9000 Series rivals.
According to leaker Zed__Wang on X, Nvidia now plans to get GeForce RTX 5070 out the door in “early March.” The user provides no reasoning behind the delay but I suspect Radeon RX 9070 XT at least partly informs Team Green’s change in strategy. As a reminder, AMD also plans to launch their next-generation graphics cards in the same timeframe.
The RTX5070 will be delayed. Instead of February, it will be on the shelf in early March.

In lieu of an official word from Nvidia, it’s wise to take the above claim with a healthy dose of scepticism. However, I expect it won’t be long before the company provides a more specific release date for GeForce RTX 5070. It still hasn’t confirmed when RTX 5070 Ti will launch, with rumours claiming the card will be available from February 20.
It’s difficult to conclude what exactly would drive Nvidia to delay GeForce RTX 5070. It’s possible that the company doesn’t want to provide AMD with ample time to position its Radeon RX 9000 Series cards as competitively as possible. This trail of thought only tracks so par as performance is concerned as it’s unlikely that Team Green will lower the card’s $549 price point so close to launch.
In any case, I’m excited to see Nvidia and AMD potentially go toe-to-toe with next-generation graphics card launches so close to one another. Rumours describe Radeon RX 9000 Series pricing as “aggressive”, which could indicate a high-value card is on the horizon from Team Red. FSR 4‘s machine learning upscaling should also help plug the gap against DLSS 4, albeit without a response to Multi Frame Generation. There’s plenty to get excited about now and seemingly more to come.
Club386 will have reviews for both GeForce RTX 5070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT in due course, so stay tuned for analysis on both graphics cards. In the meantime, I suggest following the site on Google News so that you’ll know as soon as coverage drops alongside our usual thoughts on all things tech.
