Acer announces Swift 3 OLED laptop powered by Intel H-Series processors

OLED visuals at a mainstream price point.

Acer has unveiled its new Swift 3 OLED laptop featuring a WQXGA+ resolution, DisplayHDR True Black 500, and USB 4.

Aimed at professionals, freelancers and students, this laptop offers enough power to fulfil their needs on the go, without worrying about battery life. All while keeping weight down at 1.4kg.

Housed inside its 17.9mm thin aluminium frame we find up to 45W Intel 12th Gen Core H-series CPUs, 16GB of LPDDR5 memory, a PCIe Gen 4 SSD, and Intel Iris Xe graphics. The GPU choice is adequate, as this machine favours all-day longevity as opposed to high-quality gaming.

To that end Swift 3 OLED touts up to 10 hours of real-world battery life, with a 30-minute charge yielding over four hours of runtime according to Acer. Keep in mind that the fuller batteries get, the slower charging becomes.

Users will be pleased to see the inclusion of a 14in OLED panel capable of a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 500-nit peak brightness, alongside a 90Hz refresh rate and 0.2ms response time at a tasty 2880×1800 (16:10) resolution.

Acer provided the latest and greatest for connectivity, such as Thunderbolt 4, USB 4, HDMI 2.1 and Wi-Fi 6E. A full-HD MIPI webcam is also available leveraging noise reduction and low-light image enhancement technologies.

The Acer Swift 3 OLED will be available in July 2022 starting at £1,099, making it one of the most affordable 14in OLED laptops to date.
