Alphacool has announced the unique-looking Eisbaer Pro ES 2U AIO CPU liquid cooler for enterprise featuring copper radiators and 80mm fans intended as a perfect fit for 2U server racks.
From a PC user perspective, Alphacool’s Eisbaer Pro ES 2U 80mm Triple HPE and Eisbaer Pro ES 2U 80mm Quad HPE AIOs are two unusual liquid coolers. Firstly, they boast super-fast 80mm fans instead of traditional 120/140mm fare, and secondly, their liquid inlet and outlet are positioned on opposite sides.
Resulting dimensions come in at 284mm (L) x 80mm (W) x 60mm (H) for the triple-fan cooler, or 364.5mm (L) x 80mm (W) x 60mm (H) for the quad-fan setup. And yes, you are reading it right, these beasts carry some thick-boy radiators that are made of copper no less.
The CPU block section measures 64mm (L) x 79mm (W) x 54.3mm (H) housing a DC-LT2 pump rotating at 2,600RPM and contacting the CPU via a nickel-plated copper base that covers the entire surface of each processor, ensuring all CPU hotspots are directly and optimally cooled.
Talking of which, this series is compatible with Intel and AMD desktop and server offerings, i.e. Intel’s 1700 / 2011 / 2011-3 / 2066 / 3647 Narrow or Square / LGA 4189 and AMD’s TR4 / sTRX4 / SP3 / sWRX8 / AM4 / AM5 sockets.
The obvious issue when used on a regular PC is one of noise, caused by those fast-spinning fans which can reach up to 6,000RPM. On the other hand, if you don’t mind a jet engine in the room, the setup does provide a gusty 130,93 m³/h airflow.
Would any DIYer ever consider such an enterprise product? Well, while these bad boys aren’t cheap, they are not far from ‘non-professional’ offerings, all while providing a more robust product. And while their size/format is unusual for mainstream radiators, there is nothing a little modding can’t fix; even if a bit of chassis adjustment is needed, it would still be easier than building a custom loop.
Alphacool’s Eisbaer Pro ES 2U 80mm Triple HPE and Eisbaer Pro ES 2U 80mm Quad HPE are available for €219.98 and €249.98, respectively.
