AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT listings from AIBs confirm VRAM capacities

After repeated listings from AIBs referring to Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB and 16GB variants, it seems all but certain that AMD's card will arrive with two memory capacities.

Following the success of Radeon RX 9070 Series, the market patiently awaits the arrival of more affordable Radeon RX 9060 graphics cards from AMD. The brand remains tight-lipped on the finer details of its upcoming pixel pushers but this hasn’t stopped details getting out ahead of launch. Thanks to these leaks, it’s all but certain that Radeon RX 9060 XT will arrive with two VRAM configurations.

Following registrations for Radeon RX 9060 XT cards by Acer and Asus, new entries from Gigabyte have now appeared on the RRA (South Korean Radio Research Website) website. These listings not only highlight what models the company has planned for the GPU but also cement that it will be available in 8GB and 16GB flavours. After all, third time’s a charm.

Based on these listings, it seems Gigabyte doesn’t plan to throw its weight behind Radeon RX 9060 XT as much as it will GeForce RTX 5060 Ti. AMD’s card will only rock the manufacturer’s ‘Gaming OC’ cooler, but Nvidia’s contender will be available in several designs including the more fanciful ‘Aorus Elite’ styling.

There’s curiously no mention of Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB models, despite a bevy of confirmations pointing to the existence of such a configuration like Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB. However, this could signal a delay in availability for the variant or simply that Gigabyte only plans to support the 16GB SKU.

While we’re now confident that Radeon RX 9060 XT will sport the same memory capacity as Radeon RX 9070 XT, it’s still unclear how AMD plans to separate them bar its presumably weaker GPU. Claims of a cutback memory bus seem plausible but we’ll need to wait for an official word from Team Red to say for certain.

Some rumourmongers suggest that Radeon RX 9060 XT could arrive in April, but there’s been no wider confirmation of this across sources. AMD said it plans to launch the card in Q2 2025, leaving the window open until the end of June. Regardless, it seems that Nvidia will make the opening move in the battle for the mainstream GPU space. GeForce RTX 5060 Ti should arrive come April 16 with a sub-$400 price tag, so here’s hoping this instils some proper competitive spirit in Team Red.

Expect to see reviews for both Radeon RX 9060 XT and GeForce RTX 5060 Ti in due course, which you’ll find on the site and via our Google News feed.
