‘Tis the season and Amazon’s Big Spring Sale has taken root as deals in their dozens are now blossoming across the storefront. Chief among them is AMD Ryzen 9 9900X, whose proverbial bloom appears all the more splendid thanks to a massive price reduction.

Amazon US currently lists Ryzen 9 9900X for $369.55, making for a 26% ($129.45) reduction compared to its list price. Meanwhile, Amazon UK is selling the processor for £387 netting prospective buyers a 22% (£112) discount. Regardless of where in the world you’re copping the CPU, you’re grabbing it at its lowest ever price.

A performant processor in its own right, Ryzen 9 9900X’s reception was unfortunately soured by a price point that felt too high. Tarinder pontificated that dropping the chip to $439 felt more appropriate and we’re well past that. This discount helps correct the CPU’s cost and then some, making it curiously close to Ryzen 7 9700X’s MSRP. Suffice to say, it’s a cracking buy right now.

Ryzen 9 9900X sports 12 cores and 24 threads, operating at a black clock of 4.4GHz but capable of rising up to 5.6GHz out of the box. As an X SKU processor, you can push it beyond stock settings through manual overclocks. These specification make it a deft hand at just about any application you’d want to throw at it. Its default frequencies make it a dab hand at single-thread tasks like gaming while production workloads will eat up its relatively high core count.

If you have an existing Socket AM5 motherboard, Ryzen 9 9900X can provide you with a drop-in upgrade. 600 Series chipsets will need a BIOS update or two to ensure compatibility but newer 800 Series boards will work straight away.

The Club386 team and I will be sharing more deals from Amazon’s event throughout the week. In the meantime, make sure you’re following the site on Google News so you don’t miss out on any spectacular savings.
