Upcoming AMD Ryzen 9000 desktop processors have been spotted at a Slovenian retailer. All initial models are available for preorder starting at €309.90.
Slovenian store Funtech has put all four upcoming Ryzen 9000 CPUs up for preorder. Starting with the most affordable option, we have the six-core, 12-thread Ryzen 5 9600X at €309.90, potentially offering enough performance for most users. Next comes the eight-core, 16-thread Ryzen 7 9700X at €399.90, perfect for gamers who don’t want to break the bank. Following that is a 12-core, 24-thread Ryzen 9 9900X at €499.90 targeting workstation machines. Lastly, with its 16 cores and 32 threads, the Ryzen 9 9950X at €659.90 should be the fastest one, aimed at those who want the best AM5 has to offer – at least until the release of X3D variants.
While we can’t be sure if this pricing follows the official MSRP, it seems likely as it nearly mimics the segmentation used on Ryzen 7000 series chips. This also means that ‘inflation’ hasn’t reached CPUs yet, which is fantastic as it’s one less thing to worry about.
Now it’s just a question of whether to take the leap or wait for Ryzen 9000X3D. If you are a gamer who already owns a good enough machine, I would argue waiting for X3D models as they are expected to launch next September. However, if your PC is starting to show signs of fatigue, then the AM5 platform is mature enough to upgrade without fearing bugs.
All models are listed as shipping on August 2, further confirming the previously rumoured launch window. Opening preorders this early could mean that AMD has started shipping retail units to its distributors, so we should see other stores following suit soon. Since some motherboard makers are already providing BIOS updates to support these new chips, you can get ready now by simply replacing the CPU when it arrives.
