AOC challenges 4K QD-OLED pricing with new Agon Pro AG276UZD monitor

AOC Agon Pro AG276UZD will launch for €899 later this year, making it the most affordable 27in 4K 240Hz QD-OLED on the market.

AOC has unveiled its new QD-OLED gaming monitor, Agon Pro AG276UZD. The screen boats specs you’d normally find on displays with four-figure price tags but the company aims to buck that trend with this new model.

AG276UZD packs a Gen 3 QD-OLED panel at its heart, offering a pin-sharp 4K (3840×2160) resolution and silky-smooth 240Hz refresh rate. This combination of relatively small screen and big resolution results in a fantastic pixel density of 165PPI (Pixels Per Inch), translating into a impressively crisp and clear image. This spec also should also improve text reproduction compared to other QD-OLEDs as it will suffer less from fringing.

But that’s not all, those who require accurate colour reproduction for image/video editing or media consumption will gush at AG276UZD’s gamut coverage. The monitor can display 99.3% of DCI-P3 and comes factory-calibrated for both P3 and sRGB colour spaces. It also has a glossy finish which adds to the colour vibrancy to the detriment of reflection. This makes it better suited for dimly lit rooms.

AOC offers a plethora of protections to combat panel degradation and burn-in inherent to QD-OLED. The manufacturer will ship AG276UZD with the likes of Thermal Protection, Multi-Logo Protection, Boundary Dimmer, and Taskbar Dimmer, just to name a few. If that’s not enough, the brand also covers panel burn-in with a three-year warranty.

On the connectivity side, the AG276UZD doesn’t disappoint either offering the latest DisplayPort 2.1 80Gbps (UHBR20) – with a 1.5m certified cable included, two HDMI 2.1, plus a USB Type-C with 65W power delivery. Alongside these video inputs, you get a dual-port USB hub, complemented with a KVM switch for the multi-taskers out there. Two 5W speakers are also present if you want some basic audio, just don’t expect them to blow you away. Lastly, you get a fully ergonomic stand, adjustable in height, tilt, swivel, and pivot.

AOC AG276UZD will launch launch on May 25 at €899. While this price point isn’t exactly pocket change, it is more affordable than its €1,199 competition however you slice it.
