AOC debuts two stylish high-refresh 4K gaming monitors

Is your hardware ready?

AOC has announced the U27G3X/BK and U32G3X/BK 4K gaming monitors boasting high refresh rates and good pixel-per-inch density for the pleasure of your eyes. This, alongside robust connectivity options, means they might just be ideal companions for the latest gaming PCs and consoles.

U27G3X/BK

The AOC U27G3X/BK is a flat 27in monitor featuring a 3840×2160 IPS panel capable of reaching 160Hz refresh rate, with 1ms GtG pixel response time. On paper, this is enough to deliver a clear and detailed gaming experience thanks to its 163ppi density. You’ll probably rely a lot on upscaling to drive this one at maximum resolution and frame rates.

Like any respectable gaming display, this one also supports G-Sync compatibility and Adaptive-Sync, in addition to a wide colour gamut coverage reaching 96 per cent of DCI-P3. There’s even a VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, though since AOC didn’t share any information regarding the number of dimming zones, we expect it to be just a basic implementation.

U32G3X/BK

The U32G3X/BK keeps the detailed UHD resolution while bumping the IPS panel size to 31.5in for those who like things a little larger. Although this one drops the refresh rate a bit to 144Hz, it keeps the fast 1ms GtG response time plus the adapative sync and G-Sync compatibility. It also covers 95 per cent of DCI-P3 gamut with 10-bit colour depth.

Both models offer two HDMI 2.1 and two DisplayPort 1.4 inputs alongside a 3.5mm headphone jack. They also feature ergonomic stands allowing height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustment.

Regardless of which one you choose, you better have some powerful hardware laying around to drive these bad boys at their maximum refresh rates. Seeing how recent games like Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 put expensive GPUs to their knees even at 1440p, you better have an RTX 4090 close by.

Both gaming monitors are backed by three years of warranty. The U27G3X/BK will be available starting mid-November at £499.99 MSRP, while the U32G3X/BK coming a bit later in mid-December at £649.99.
