AOC’s Agon Pro AG274QS monitor touts QHD resolution and 300Hz refresh rate

Now we wait for next-gen GPUs to run this beast.

AOC is resting on its laurels. Having already released the FHD 360Hz ‘AG254FG’ and 260Hz ‘AG274FZ,’, the monitor specialist is turning its attention toward a QHD resolution at similar speeds.

Joining AOC’s Agon Pro portfolio, the AG274QS 27in monitor runs at a very fast 300Hz refresh rate with 1ms GtG and 0.5ms MPRT response times, all while being DisplayHDR 600 plus AMD FreeSync certified. So, no excuses for missing shots.

At this size, its 2560×1440 resolution should provide enough pixel density for comfortable viewing, but you’ll need a potent GPU to achieve the desired 300fps in modern games.

AOC didn’t share more information about this IPS panel. However, if Display Specifications are up to speed, we’re looking at an eight-bit panel with a W-LED backlight capable of displaying 120 per cent sRGB and 97 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut. Contrast is set at 1000:1 with brightness maxing out at 600 nits.

Again, no information about video inputs as yet, but we know that there is a four-port USB 3.2 hub alongside two 5W speakers with DTS sound.

This monitor can adjust in height, tilt, swivel, and also pivots 90° if you feel the need to experience excel spreadsheets at 300Hz. OSD can be adjusted via a joystick to the rear, G-Menu software or the bundled puck-shaped QuickSwitch controller. In keeping with others in the Agon Pro range, there is also the possibility to turn on a light projector to display AOC’s logo on the desk.

Sound impressive? QHD and high framerates are in our estimation a sweet spot for PC gaming, but the Agon Pro AG274QS won’t come cheap. Expect to pay £929.99 when it arrives in stores later this month.
