ASRock debuts turnkey box with eight RX 7900 XT and XTX GPUs

AI is getting all the nice toys.

ASRock plans to sell complete systems for AI, powered by AMD’s Radeon RX 7000 GPUs. The brand offers two designs one with eight GPUs inside a 4U rack and another with four GPUs in a full-tower chassis.

Starting with the big boys, we have two variants: the GAI80-79XTX and the GAI80-79XT. As you may have guessed, the former houses eight AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX cards, whereas the latter goes a step lower with eight RX 7900XT. Regardless of the GPU inside, both graphics card models use dual-slot blower-style coolers, important in server rack builds to push air outside of the chassis – unless you want to build a cooking stove.

These cards slot into an SP3 – LGA 4094 – dual-socket motherboard supporting AMD’s Epyc 7002 and 7003 with 3D-V-Cache processor series. The board also features 16+16 DDR4 288-pin RAM modules, though the maximum capacity was not specified. Not to forget 3+1 1600W 80 Plus Platinum PSUs – with the +1 probably for redundancy. All this sits inside a 4U rackmount measuring 845mm x 438mm x 176.5mm.

According to the ROCm System Management Interface, these cards seem to be power capped at 257W each, meaning a total graphics power draw of 2,056W.

The brand has also presented a potentially less onerous system using a large PC tower instead, this time packing four of AMD’s best graphics cards. Once more, we see two variants powered by Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT cards, with dual-slot blower coolers. Since this one is built as a workstation instead of a server rack, ASRock opted for a single sWRX8 – LGA 4094 – socket filled with a Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5955WX CPU.

Unsurprisingly RAM capacity was also reduced to eight DDR4 288-pin slots, this time filled to the brim with 64GB ECC RDIMM modules apiece. All of this sits inside a tower case measuring 596mm x 430.4mm x 174.8mm, alongside a single 2,000W ATX PSU.

ASRock hasn’t shared any pricing yet, though you can already expect a hefty one. These are professional tools first and foremost, designed to make moolah. You know the saying, though: you’ve gotta spend money to make money.
