Ever since ASRock slashed Intel Arc graphics card prices in the US last week, curious shoppers here in the UK have been wondering whether or not such deals would extend to our shores.

There’s good news, as similar price cuts are beginning to filter through. Specifically, the ASRock Intel Arc A770 Phantom Gaming has dropped below the £290 mark at Amazon for the first time ever, representing a discount of nearly 20 per cent.

An 8GB GPU, A770 hasn’t troubled rival AMD or Nvidia solutions, yet might be worth revisiting if you’re in the market for a low-cost upgrade. Club386 analysis of recent driver updates highlights solid progress in real-world gaming performance, and after an uncertain launch, Arc now feels a noticeably more mature product.

Plenty have voiced dissatisfaction with pricing and availability of graphics solutions from the industry’s two major players, but are enough willing to take a chance on Intel Arc at these price points, or do the likes of ASRock need to go lower still?

That’s very much debatable, but after a tough couple of years for PC enthusiasts, we’re heartened by a growing number of deals. Putting together a new build is starting to look interesting again.
