be quiet! has announced a new version of its Light Wings and Light Wings LX fans, offering a reversed design for those using push/pull cooling configurations. Available in black or white, the fans open new ways to customise your machine without rethinking your case’s airflow.
Following the release of the white Light Wings variants, be quiet! is now tackling another user need, i.e. reverse-flow fans. As their name implies, these fans feature a reversed blade design allowing you to install them in a pull configuration – for example, on the case’s bottom to cool the GPU. This way you can keep the RGB-lit ring and blades looking the correct way, unlike regular models which would show you their rear fan hub and support struts. Perfect for glass-side chassis like the brand’s Light Base series, presenting the best side for a clean look over the fan blades and RGB.

The Light Wings and Light Wings LX are designed with airflow and silent operation in mind, the company says, leaving size and RGB lighting as a differentiating factor. The 140mm Light Wings Reverse carry two light rings made of 20 individually addressable LEDs, delivering uniform illumination from the front and rear. Meanwhile, the 120mm Light Wings LX Reverse makes do with 16 ARGB LEDs, but this time integrated into the fan blades which provides a larger light effect that covers the entire fan.
On the subject of RGB, note that all models are compatible with 5V ARGB headers, allowing them to be synchronised with your other hardware through the motherboard software. Plus, the RGB cables can be daisy-chained to reduce clutter and simplify the build procedure.

Regarding specs, Light Wings 140mm PWM Reverse is rated for up to 1,300rpm at a low 25.5dBA noise level, while the Light Wings LX 120mm PWM Reverse can reach 1,500rpm at 28.5 dBA. be quiet! claims that the former delivers 51.37cfm of airflow and 1.1mmH2O of air pressure, against 48.8cfm and 1.04mmH2O for LX. Due to their slower speed, performance ends up being lower than their regular counterparts; but on the other hand, noise sees a net improvement at full speed.
These reverse-flow fans will be available starting April 8 at €27.50 / $34.90 / £24.99 for Light Wings 140 mm PWM Reverse and €18.90 / $22.90 / £14.99 for the Light Wings LX 120 mm PWM Reverse. Not cheap, but at least all models are backed by a three-year warranty.
