Amazon Prime Day has come in swinging, cutting the cost of graphics cards down to their rightful place. The event doesn’t last long, spanning two days between July 16-17, but during this time, you can get a bunch of AMD and Nvidia GPUs cheaper than they’ve ever been before. This includes previous generation powerhouses like AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT right through to the latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060.

AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT is a trip down memory lane, but its value has come a long way in just two years. Back in 2022, it launched with an exorbitant $1,099 price tag. Thankfully, it’s a far cry from that, now sitting at £399.99 on Amazon UK for Prime subscribers. The same exclusivity doesn’t bind US shoppers, but by contrast, they don’t get quite the same savings, as 9% off brings the card down to $499.99.

Generally, Radeon RX 6950 XT has a lot in common with RX 7900 GRE, with identical compute units, shaders, RT cores, and 16GB of VRAM. There’s even a similar clock speed and bandwidth. The main difference is that our discounted pixel pusher is slightly more power-hungry with a 335W requirement. For the extra electricity, you get better rasterised performance and higher frame rates than its newer counterpart, alongside the upfront savings.

We consider AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT the best graphics card for 1440p gaming largely because of its value. With 16GB of onboard memory, it races past Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 in performance, reaching up to 122fps in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla at QHD.
This Amazon Prime Day deal just cements the accolade. Discounts throughout the year have paved the way for this landmark saving, as it’s never been cheaper than £458.99 on Amazon UK. Once again, our friends across the Atlantic don’t get a Prime-specific deal, but there are a few savings. XFX has chopped 10% off as its QICK319 Core model tumbles down to $469.99, its best price yet.

AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT
“Radeon RX 7600 XT gives gaming enthusiasts on a relative budget more choice than ever before with no less than 16GB of memory.”

AMD Radeon RX 7600 takes the budget crown, offering a lot for very little. For the first time, it’s fallen below the £300 / $300 mark, hitting £281.99 / $299.99. Throughout Europe, it’s also €393.17 in some regions, which is the lowest since price rises took hold.
Despite being an entry-level card, it doesn’t skimp on the memory. Housing 16GB, it’s primed (pun intended) and ready for all game system requirements. Granted, you’ll probably want to stick with 1080p, but you’ll see 110fps in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and 163fps in Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker without breaking a sweat.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060

Admittedly, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 wasn’t the greatest proposition when it was first released, but it’s much better in 2024. Relentless price decreases now put its coveted DLSS 3 upscaler within reach. In supported games, this means night and day, sometimes doubling your frame rate for nothing.
Currently, you can save 15% by grabbing one for £237.99. Across the pond, the same GPU is just $304.99, hovering a little above its cheapest yet.

All of these deals are on Amazon, which means you benefit from the retailer’s 30-day return window. Try it out for yourself and if you’re not happy, send it back within the month for a full refund.
