A display of power.

With the imminent launch of its latest power supply, Cooler Master is going the extra mile to drum up hype. The early bird bundle for X Silent Edge Platinum (Fanless) is as impressive as it its tempting. Alongside minor but welcome complementary items, the company is including a 240Hz gaming monitor with the PSU.

Before we get ahead of ourselves with included freebies, let’s take a look at the power supply in question first. X Silent Edge Platinum (Fanless) is an ATX PSU, promising whisper-quiet noise levels even under load. As its name suggests, it ditches active cooling via fans for a custom passive solution via heat sinks and pipes. Cooler Master claims it’ll operate at less than 20dB(A), all while maintaining 80 Plus Platinum levels of efficiency.

We got a glimpse of X Silent Edge Platinum (Fanless) as part of Cooler Master’s Fanless System concept at Computex. Still, the power supply looks to be an excellent choice for would-be silent systems. That is, of course, providing you can stomach its expectedly high price tag.

With this in mind, a 27% discount combined with a complimentary GM27-CFX makes the PSU price far more agreeable. It’s a few years old now, but this is no slouch of a screen today. The monitor boasts a curved 27in VA quantum dot panel, with a native 1080p resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. It’s ideal for competitive multiplayer games but should make for a solid single player display too. Regardless of your preferred player count though, everything should look buttery smooth at 240 frames per second.

Alongside GM27-CFX, Cooler Master includes an ATX 24-pin 90° adapter and M.2 SSD thermal pad with all pre-orders. X Silent Edge Platinum (Fanless) launches “towards the end of June.” So, if this promotion catches your fancy, be sure to get a purchase in ASAP.
