Cooler Master has showcased several air-cooled graphics cards, featuring an adjustable frame that accommodates regular desktop fans. Users will have the possibility to install any fan they like, including thick ones.
Inside its CES showroom, the brand has presented a bunch of Nvidia RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 cooler engineering samples to Overclock3D. These custom heatsinks are made of what looks like eight heatpipes connected to a large fin stack. All offer room for three regular desktop fans, like the ones you find on the brand’s CPU coolers and chassis. An excellent choice as it makes customisation possible without needing specially sized fans.
Moreover, since other brands’ fans are also compatible, you can opt for anything you like. A bunch of those infinity mirror blowers would look fantastic here. Not to forget the one with RGB blades or LCD screens.
This compatibility even includes thick fans as the cooler’s shroud can change position to accommodate different formats. And to top it off, said shroud is also made of thick metal, giving it a premium look. OC3D said that these heatsinks were among the most robust they saw at CES 2025.
Due to their unfinished status, we can still expect further modification and optimisation even though they look pretty good already. Regardless, getting one comes with a substantial caveat. Unfortunately, Cooler Master plans to keep these exclusive to its pre-built PCs, which is a bummer.
Seeing how aftermarket GPU coolers have gone the way of the dodo aside from some rare passive or liquid-cooled solutions, I have my fingers crossed that Cooler Master will change its plans. Hope is still permitted. If not for a standalone cooler sale, the brand could see an opening to join AIB partners, or at least collaborate with other brands like what Noctua did for the Asus RTX 4080.
