Corsair Custom Lab lets you design your mouse, keyboard and mat

Your peripherals your way.

Corsair Custom Lab Dreamscape set.

Taking a leaf out of Nike’s book, Corsair’s new Custom Lab lets you personalise your PC equipment. It’s not quite for the branded streamer just yet, but the all-in-one shop gives you a chance to add your own style to your mouse, keyboard, and mouse pad to reflect who you are a bit better than the usual black or white husks atop your desk.

Starting off with a M75 Wireless mouse, K65 Plus Wireless keyboard, and an MM300 mouse pad in medium, large, and desk-length extended, there isn’t a great deal of choice just yet. Corsair promises that more products are coming soon, though, so it’s just about having a little patience. Each item is backed by a two-year warranty alongside the usual tech support if anything goes wrong.

The process looks a lot like Razer Customs to me, which came out in Sep 2021 alongside Orochi V2. Corsair uses a similar zoned approach, sectioning off portions of the products to personalise. On M75 Wireless, you can splash colour on the sides and side buttons, and equip a decal or colour across the palm. The keyboard comes in black or white with keycaps wrapped in a unique pattern. The mouse pad has just one giant design, from left to right.

Currently, there are seven colours and ten decals to choose from. This doesn’t seem like a lot, but Razer’s wasn’t the busting collection it is now when it first started. What would really make it is the ability to upload your own design. Unfortunately, this seems an unlikely option even later down the line. It can add to production costs and make it difficult to police and preserve Corsair’s branding.

At the very least, I’d like to see Corsair offer the ability to pick colour shades. The above is as close as I can get to a true Club386 mouse, but it’s not quite our exact pinks and blues. Again, though, offering 16.8 million colours probably isn’t cheap.

While you can try out the Corsair Custom Lab for yourself, the products are currently only available in the US. M75 Wireless costs $129.99, while K65 Plus Wireless sits at $159.99. You’ll need to add $10 for any decals you use, and let’s face it, that’s the whole point with the keyboard. MM300 medium starts at $29.99, large at $39.99, and extended at $49.99.
