Crucial slashes the price of its SSDs for the first time in months

Nothing more Crucial than a discount.

Crucial has rare SSD deals right now.

With games like God of War Ragnarok demanding just about every gigabyte available, it’s just a matter of time before you need to upgrade your SSD. Thankfully, Crucial has a mini sale on right now, helping you up your storage for practically nothing. Not all deals are made equally, as some offer a bit more than others, but two in particular stand out to me.

Crucial T500 offers some of the fastest speeds PCIe Gen 4 has to offer, pushing 7,400MB/s sequential read and 7,000MB/s write. It claims to load games up to 16% quicker than the previous generation, meaning you’ll never be the one holding up the lobby.

The 2TB model offers the most bang for your buck right now, particularly the heatsink version. Compatible with PS5, it’s down 24% on Amazon UK right now, costing just £136.37. It’s only ever been lower once before, at the end of last year. Curiously, the bare version is a touch more expensive at £139.98, but this is the cheapest it’s been since February and saves you faffing about with removing the metal plating to fit your motherboard.

There are similar discounts on the standard drive across pretty much every country. Amazon US takes 18% off, offering 2TB for $154.99. Europe cuts prices up to 22%, presenting the drive for as low as €155.81 depending on your country. Click the button below and check prices in your region.

Crucial P3 Plus isn’t quite as quick, but what it lacks in speed, it makes up for in superb value and a lofty capacity. The 4TB model runs at 4,800MB/s sequential read and 4,100MB/s write, eclipsing Gen 3 drives. While we only gave it 3/5 stars in our Crucial P3 Plus review back in 2022, much of our opinion was coloured by the launch price, which is but a distant memory at this point. It’s since clawed onto our best SSD guide, proving itself as a fantastic budget option.

Nabbing 24% off, you can get the 4TB drive for £189.99 on Amazon UK. It hasn’t been this low since January, and with a big red ‘Limited Time Deal’ banner counting down how many people have snagged one, it probably won’t last too much longer. Do note that this one doesn’t come with a passive heatsink, but you shouldn’t really need one at these speeds.

Amazon US is offering a 34% discount, bringing the price down to $237.99. This isn’t far off the average we see, mind you. The best deal in Europe comes from France, where the same drive drops to €219.99 thanks to 27% off. Not bad, considering it usually runs for €300.
