Just last month, AMD prepared for the arrival of its Ryzen 9000 CPUs by slashing the cost of its current generation. Well, it’s not done yet, as it’s taken another stab to plummet the price of its processors. Both AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D and its bigger brother are at their cheapest yet.

There’s never been a better time to grab Ryzen 9 7950X3D, which now takes a £466.53-sized bite out of your bank account. Ignore Amazon’s claims that this is half-price, as that’s not quite right. We’ve never seen it reach the highs that the retailer claims here. That said, compared to its launch, you’re still saving nearly 38%.

This isn’t just a UK exclusive. Prime Day started early for folks in the US, as a bespoke 33% deal lets subscribers get the processor for $465.49. Discounts are a little spotty around Europe, but there’s a chance they could catch up when the event officially starts on July 16.

For your money, you get the best CPU that Zen 4 architecture has to offer, complete with 16 cores and 32 threads. It’s not the 5.7GHz frequency that’s the crowning feature, nor the 120W operating power. The spotlight lands firmly on its 128MB L3 cache, which gives it champion frame rates in games.

It’s a similar story for Ryzen 9 7900X3D, now just £366.50. Once again, heed the warning that this isn’t 54% off but rather a 24% reduction. You can consider it semantics either way. It’s never been this low before, undercutting its previous record set a mere two weeks ago.

If your Prime subscription is ready, Amazon US shoppers wave goodbye to 45%, costing an extra-low $327.98. There are a handful of discounts throughout Europe, but your mileage may vary. Simply click the button below to find out how much you can save.

Under the hood there are 12 cores and 24 threads, so it’s a little trimmer than its counterpart. However, its 5.6GHz makes barely any concessions in clock speeds and 128MB of 3D V-Cache goes toe-to-toe.

Of the two, I’d advise you to go for Ryzen 9 7900X3D for general gaming. It’s plenty powerful, costing 21% less than the flagship while being just 7% slower. If you prefer raw performance or need a workstation, Ryzen 9 7950X3D is your winner.

Whichever you choose, you benefit from Amazon’s 30-day return policy. This lets you try the processor for yourself without any risk. You can simply send it back within the month if you’re unhappy.
