DRAM costs have taken a tumble over the past year and look to continue the welcome decline into the first quarter of 2025 according to analysts at TrendForce. What this means for you lovely folks is that SSD prices are slimmer than they’ve been in quite some time, leading to some delicious discounts on storage drives. You don’t need to look far to see a whole heap of WD Black SN850X models on sale across all capacities.
Currently, adding 1TB into your system proves the most lucrative on Amazon UK, as Western Digital saves you 56% off its MSRP at a lean £69, or $85 across the pond. Meanwhile, folks in the US get more out of larger capacities, saving up to 22% on 2TB at $149 and 26% on 4TB at $650. There are plenty of deals and you can explore your local discounts by clicking the buttons below.

“Battling out with the best consumer SSDs available, WD Black SN850X is another fine contender, especially with these deals.” Read our review.
SN850X has provided a good home for our games over the past two-and-a-half years, saturating what PCIe 4.0 has to offer. Sure, there are faster Gen 5 drives out there, but they’ll cost you more than double for the pleasure. 7,300MB/s sequential read and 6,350MB/s sequential write speeds are plenty for any task you have in mind, as it’ll evaporate any loading times you’re used to.
All of the discounts I’ve spotted are for the bare drive without the included heatsink, but this comes with a few benefits. Firstly, it’s more compatible, slotting into any M.2 NVMe port without the bulky intrusion. I’ve removed these from their heat shield enclosures before and it’s no easy process. Secondly, it doesn’t work up too much of a sweat under pressure. You’ll see temperatures rise to 73°C, but it’s still far enough away from its 85°C ceiling so as to not cause any concern. You’re best sticking it under your motherboard’s integrated thermal plates if it has any, but it’ll work fine without.
Western Digital’s Dashboard software takes this SSD a step further by offering firmware updates and additional features, like overprovisioning, which can help extend its lifespan. That said, with a robust endurance rating of 1,200 TBW and a five-year limited warranty, durability won’t be a concern.
SN850X still sits at the heart of my personal rig and I have no reason to move on from it any time soon. You can try it out for yourself, and simply return it using Amazon’s 30-day refund window if you’re not happy. Win win.
