Deal of the day: Meta Quest 3 falls to its lowest price ever

Mixed reality, positive discount.

Meta Quest 2 has long held the crown for being the best value VR headset, but with a massive discount, its successor isn’t far behind. In its first major deal since launching in October 2023, you can currently nab a Meta Quest 3 cheaper than ever. It’s no small saving, either, chopping as much as £150 / €150 / $150 off its top model.

The 512GB device is the most promising of the bunch, offering up to 24% off depending on your region. Amazon currently lists the headset with its controllers bundled for just $499 in the US, £469.99 in the UK, and €549.99 across Europe. It’s incredibly rare to see it come down from the $649 / £620 / €699 price tags it’s carried throughout 2024, and whenever it does, the deals don’t tend to last long. It’s possible this could be a permanent price drop, but I wouldn’t recommend hanging around if you’ve been eyeing one up.

If this is still too rich for your blood, the 128GB model also sports a significant price cut, but availability is a bit spotty. The company announced that it has discontinued this capacity alongside Meta Quest 2 and Pro during its Meta Connect event. This will be your last chance to get one before they’re gone. Stock has already ran out in the US, but folks in the UK can grab one for £409.99, which is the cheapest I’ve ever seen. Those who live in Europe also benefit from a 13% discount, bringing it down to €479.99.

Meta Quest 3 leapt over the high bar of its predecessor set, adding double the graphical capabilities, roaring 3D spatial audio, and mixed reality backed by a beautiful 4K display. Developers have continued to improve it through updates, expanding the amount of windows it can handle alongside introducing a decent roster of games. Batman: Arkham Shadow alone has me tempted, which comes bundled with purchases from select retailers.

It’s far more comfortable than Quest 2, overhauling the fit with better straps and cushions. You honestly can’t get much better out of a standalone headset, particularly with access to the broad Meta Store that’s not available to rivals like HTC. Just keep in mind that you’ll get roughly 2 hours before needing to plug it in. Of course, you can use it wired whenever you’re low, so there’s no need to schedule your work day around it.

Whether it’s making your everyday life a bit easier with a mixed-reality workspace or enhancing your immersion with games and movies, these goggles can do it all. It’s the second-most popular headset on Steam for a reason, and rapidly catching up to the leader every month. If you subscribe to Amazon Prime, you can be part of the clique as soon as tomorrow with next-day delivery.
