After spending several years as a PlayStation exclusive, The Last of Us Part II has finally made the jump to PC. In celebration of its long-awaited launch, Sony is teaming up with MSI to craft potentially enticing bundles befitting of the game’s visual splendour.
Announced via a recent blog post, MSI will soon include complementary copies of The Last of Us Part II with select monitors. Curiously, the brand is yet to share which models in particular are part of this promotion, as well as its duration. However, it has at the very least confirmed that it will include some of its coveted QD-OLED stock.

Examining the promotion’s teaser image more closely (shown above), MSI specifically highlights its MPG 272URX QD-OLED and MPG 322URX QD-OLED monitors. Damien had the chance to sit down with the latter model and walked away thoroughly impressed but its impressive qualities do come at a pronounced premium. While the included copy of The Last of Us Part 2 would knock a small chunk off its total price, I’m hopeful that the company includes more affordable alternatives too.
I first played The Last of Us Part 2 back in 2020, on a base PlayStation 4 and a midrange LCD display. Revisiting the game five years later on my PC and AW3225QF monitor, it takes on a whole new level of visual polish. While the likes of DLSS Super Resolution and various graphical uplifts play their part in bringing new life to the game, I’d argue my display is making the biggest difference.
Put simply, once you become accustomed to the inky blacks and rich colours of QD-OLED panels it’s difficult to return to LCD displays. I’d even go so far as to say that there are times where upgrading your monitor is a more worthwhile path to take than your graphics card. If you ever get the chance, mosey on down to your nearest PC hardware store and find a self-emissive screen and you should get an understanding of what I’m getting at.
As soon as MSI reveals more on the finer details on this promotion, I’ll be sure to update this post. Follow Club386 on Google News to catch any changes as and when they come, in addition to keeping up with all our content.
