A new Geekbench test result has leaked upcoming Intel Arc Battlemage GPU specs, including frequency and core composition. The new mid-ranger is expected to pack 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM, enough for its target resolution.
According to this Geekbench 6 result, the tested chip features 160 compute units clocked up to 2.85GHz alongside 12GB of video memory – listed as 11.6GB. Assuming Team Blue didn’t change its core design, 160 compute units would indicate a 20 Xe2-core GPU, perfectly fitting the rumoured G21 chip we heard about previously.
While the test doesn’t specifically name the GPU in question, we assume it’s the Arc B580 as these specs perfectly align with the rumours regarding this chip. More so following the recent retail listing of ASRock B580 cards which carry the same VRAM amount and GPU frequency.

Compared to its Arc A580 predecessor, B580 trades four Xe cores for a massive 1.1GHz boost in frequency and a 33% increase in VRAM capacity. That said, the latter is now connected via a smaller 192-bit bus instead of 256-bit on the A580. Fortunately, this shouldn’t degrade performance much since the newer GDDR6 memory runs a 19Gbps. Likewise, while the GPU is smaller on B580, it will likely offer more performance thanks to its higher frequency.
Regarding the score itself, the new graphics card seems slower than its predecessor, indicating that something has yet to be optimised. Probably drivers. The latter were a struggle point for Intel during Alchemist GPUs’ launch, so hopefully things are well ironed out for Battlemage’s debut. We expect Intel will announce Arc Battlemage GPUs this year, with availability early next year.
Regarding pricing, Intel won’t demand more than $230 for its B580 cards if we believe the rumoured RX 7600 XT performance comparison. The reason being that you can get an RX 7600 XT with 16GB of VRAM and a frictionless driver experience for $280.
