Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 3 offers 12th Gen Core or Ryzen Pro 6000 Series CPU

Plus a wealth of upgrades across the range.

Lenovo’s relentless pursuit of every corner of the PC market is showing no signs of slowing. Following a ThinkPad X1 Series refresh back in January, the world’s top PC maker is this week expanding its portfolio with nearly a dozen systems spread across its ThinkPad X- and L-Series product lines.

Chief among new releases is the ThinkPad X13 Gen 3. Available with a choice of 12th Gen Intel Core or AMD Ryzen Pro 6000 Series processor, the 13.3in laptop touts a 16:10 WQXGA (2560×1600) display, up to 32GB of memory and up to a 2TB PCIe SSD.

Battery configurations include 41Whr or 54.7Whr, with the latter promising a runtime of nearly 16 hours, and there are worthwhile multimedia improvements across the board. These include a user-facing Dolby Audio speaker system, Dolby Voice microphone optimisations, and for the growing number of users working from home, full-HD IR cameras with integrated privacy shutters.

Connectivity is well stocked with two USB Type-C, two USB Type-A, HDMI 2.0b, 3.5mm audio, WWAN and Wi-Fi 6E as standard. Intel configurations will also offer Thunderbolt 4, and Lenovo’s power button integrates a fingerprint reader for an extra layer of biometric security.

Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Gen 3

Elsewhere in Lenovo’s mid-season refresh, the convertible ThinkPad X13 Yoga is also receiving a Gen 3 upgrade, but will only be available with Intel CPUs. Further down the ladder, Gen 3 revisions of the more mainstream ThinkPad L13 and L13 Yoga come equipped with 12th Gen Intel Core or AMD Ryzen Pro 5000 Series chips, alongside a 13.3in WUXGA (1920×1200) display.

It’s good to see Lenovo making available 16:10 displays across the entire 13.3in stack, though users seeking something a little larger aren’t being left out. The L-Series will also be offered in 14in and 15.6in variants, complete with the same processor options, albeit at a more basic FHD (1920×1080) resolution.

Larger models such as the ThinkPad L15 are expected to begin shipping as soon as next month with prices starting from $869, but you’ll have to wait a while for the ThinkPad X13 Gen 3, which starts at $1,119 but won’t be arriving in stores until June.

Full specifications for all 13.3in variants are included below.
