Minisforum launches DeskMini TH60 and TH80 mini PCs with Intel Tiger Lake processors

16 threads plus 64GB of RAM in the palm of your hand.

Minisforum has expanded its range of DeskMini PCs to include Intel Tiger Lake H45 processors, offering high performance and flexibility in a tiny footprint.

Building on a portfolio of primarily AMD-powered machines such as the HX90G and Elitemini B550, the firm’s Intel-based additions are dubbed the DeskMini TH60 and TH80. Both share a lot in common, starting with a minuscule body measuring 18.2cm (L) x 17.7cm (W) x 3.6cm (H), capable of housing two DDR4 SODIMM memory modules plus two M.2 SSDs. More precisely, we are talking about up to 64GB (2x32GB) of DDR4 dual-channel memory, alongside two M.2 slots, one running at PCIe 4.0 speeds and the other at PCIe 3.0.

The only difference between these models is their CPU. Whereas the TH60 packs a Core i5-11400H offering six-cores and 12 threads clocked at 4.5GHz boost, the TH80 goes further making use of the i7-11800H’s eight cores and 16 threads at 4.6GHz.

This brings us to our next point, graphics. Both CPUs are based on Intel’s UHD Graphics clocked at 350MHz base and 1.45GHz boost, only varying in their number of execution units. While an i5-11400H gets 16 EUs, the i7-11800H doubles that to 32 EUs, potentially doubling performance for casual gaming. So, depending on your intended use, CPU choice may be very important.

To display those frames, you will have a choice between HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB Type-C, all capable of delivering 4K resolution at a 60Hz refresh rate. You can use all three outputs at the same time for multi-tasking in an office or for multimedia purposes.

Moving to connectivity we find four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, a 2.5GbE, HDMI, DisplayPort, mic, and headphones jack in the rear, plus one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, one USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm combo jack at the front. Not to forget Wi-Fi and Bluetooth inside. Note that this PC can be mounted to a monitor using an included VESA bracket.

For these machines, pricing goes from $359 up to $619, with the full breakdown of configurations detailed in the table below.

TH60 (i5-11400H)TH80 (i7-11800H)
0GB RAM + 0GB SSD$359$429
8GB RAM + 256GB SSD$429$499
16GB RAM + 256GB SSD$459$529
16GB RAM + 512GB SSD$479$559
32GB RAM + 512GB SSD$539$619

Finally, if you purchase either a TH60 or TH80 with 256GB or 512GB storage, Windows 11 Pro will be pre-installed as standard.
