MSI has a set of peripherals straight out of Chornobyl

All look great, but the controller takes the cake.

MSI has officially completed its S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2-themed set. Following the RTX 4070 Ti Super S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 edition, it’s time for peripherals to get the spotlight as a keyboard, mouse, and gamepad all get the Heart of Chornobyl treatment. Now, you can feel the danger zone before even launching the game.

The brand has given its Vigor GK41 keyboard, Clutch GM41 lightweight mouse, and Force Pro Wireless controller a coveted S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Edition coat of paint. Unfortunately, MSI didn’t judge it necessary to add a headset, perhaps out of fear of contamination too close to the brain. At least these parts that are constantly visible while playing.

Vigor GK41 S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Edition

Vigor GK41 is a full-size mechanical keyboard featuring Kailh Red switches. All keycaps are painted to reflect the game’s military style, resulting in a great-looking piece. I especially appreciate the extra effort put into the contrasting keys, from Enter, to WASD, Escape, and the Home buttons.

Keep in mind, however, that while this is a backlit keyboard, it’s a simple white illumination, not RGB. Although I’d have preferred MSI to select a more colourful model, white does give it an industrial vibe. I just wish I could change it to Red or Orange when entering a radiation zone for extra immersion.

Clutch GM41 Lightweight Wireless S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Edition

Clutch GM41 is a lightweight wireless mouse tipping the scale at 74g. It offers up to 80 hours of playtime and is rechargeable using the dock or USB cable. Inside, you will find a PixArt PAW-3370 sensor capable of 20,000 DPI and 1,000Hz polling rate. The buttons’ switches made by Omron are rated for 60 million clocks, ensuring years of use.

When it comes to bling, this time, you get a customisable RGB light behind the MSI dragon logo. For once, I’d probably leave the RGB light on since the effect seems nice, even though it’ll reduce battery life.

Force Pro Wireless S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Edition

Force Pro is a wireless Xbox controller that supports three connection modes: 2.4GHz to PC, Bluetooth to Android devices, and wired to Xbox consoles. It boasts Hall Effect triggers with three adjustable depths, four vibrating motors, and auto-calibrating/removable thumbsticks. The latter are a fantastic addition as they allow you to easily swap them if, at some point, they start drifting. Even the springs in Hall Effect sticks can wear down, after all. In addition to the usual XYBA buttons, you also get four extra on the rear, similar to the Xbox Ultimate controller.

You can expect up to 48 hours of playtime with this one if you turn off the RGB. Once more, I think the lighting adds to the style of this gamepad. But that’s not all, this time MSI takes customisability to the next level, bundling the Force Pro with an extra swappable face plate, two 1.8mm joysticks, and a different shape D-pad. A nice package.

Free S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

While some fans may grab the entire set, MSI understands that most users may grab one or two bits max. For this reason, the brand bundles more S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl game copies with its peripherals. Aside from the copy you get with the graphics card, you can get one with the controller, plus another when buying the mouse and keyboard bundle. This means, if you buy the entire set of peripherals plus the graphics card, you will end up with three copies of the game provided as digital codes.

That said, note that the peripherals come with the Standard game version instead of the Deluxe Edition offered with the graphics card. The latter includes an extra side quest, digital artbook, official soundtrack, three costumes, plus six weapon skins, but lacks the two-story expansions available on the Ultimate Edition.

You have until May 31, 2025 to claim your game key and until June 15, 2025 to redeem it. That’s plenty of time following the game’s November 20, 2024. To claim your key, you must head to MSI’s website to register your new product. Enjoy.
