MSI RTX 4070 Ti Super S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 edition bundles the game for free

Should have bundled a Geiger counter too.

Following Black Myth: Wukong and World of Warcraft, MSI is preparing yet another custom GPU pack, this time for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. Inside this bundle, you’ll find a special edition MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super graphics card plus a free copy of the game Heart of Chornobyl releasing on November 20. The card is covered with details inspired by the game’s military, battle-worn theme. At first glance, it seems that the brand went with its Gaming X Slim cooler, but it’s yet to share any specific details of what’s under the hood.

I’m a fan of the custom paint job, but I’m a little disappointed with the backplate art. Something flashier wouldn’t have gone amiss, particularly since most owners will likely install the card in a standard position, mainly showcasing the backplate. MSI should’ve taken inspiration from Sapphire’s Pure Radeon RX 7700 XT Frostpunk 2 Edition.

Thankfully, the front, though basic, looks fine. The worn paint effect and the nuclear radiation symbol fit nicely. Lastly, kudos to MSI for taking the time to customise the GPU holder, a part that some may brush aside.

Regarding performance, you can expect pretty much the same frame rates as any RTX 4070 Ti Super. Its 16GB of VRAM lets you crank those textures to the max without worry. According to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2’s system requirements, this GPU should deliver above the recommended experience by a good margin. However, it’s unclear what fps and resolution the developers at GSC Game World target with its suggested specs.

That said, while free goodies are always welcome, keep in mind that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be available on Game Pass the day it launches. So, don’t feel the need to pick this specific card just to claim a £50 game. For example, you could go for the more unique Monster Hunter edition. Regardless of your choice, you will also get a copy of Star Wars Outlaws with your RTX 40 Series GPU to further sweeten the deal. Just make sure to buy from a participating retailer.
