MSI storms the 240Hz QD-OLED market with two new monitors

QD-OLED’s sweet spot.

MSI has expanded its QD-OLED lineup with two new models rocking 240Hz refresh rates. These offer distinct designs that suit different preferences while keeping identical core specs.

MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED

Perfect for gamers wanting to expand their field of view, MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED is a UWQHD monitor rocking a 3440×1440 resolution. MSI went with a 1,800R curved panel to further engulf players in their game. Add to that a super-fast 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms pixel response time and you get the best VESA ClearMR 13000 certification. So, if you play competitive titles or like to have a clear image, this one should be on your list, just keep in mind it’s wide 34.18in size.

MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2

For this one, MSI opted for a smaller 26.5in size, making it adequate for smaller spaces. Additionally, the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 features a flat QD-OLED panel, ideal for sensitive tasks like 3D modelling. Meanwhile, when it comes to gaming, you won’t be disappointed with its 240Hz QHD panel that runs at a 2560×1440 resolution. Plus, like its bigger brother, we find fast pixel response times of 0.03ms accompanied by VESA ClearMR 13000 certification.

The remaining specs are pretty much identical on both models, with 250nits of brightness in SDR mode plus 1,000nits peak in HDR, 1,500,000:1 contrast, and DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. They also carry the same I/O offering one DisplayPort 1.4a, two HDMI 2.1, a two-port USB hub, plus one USB 2.0 Type C with power delivery. The only difference is that the 34in model can deliver up to 98W via its Type-C instead of 15W on the 26in.

To give you peace of mind, MSI backs these bad boys with three years of warranty, including panel burn-in. Seeing manufacturers adopting longer burn-in protections shows how far the technology has advanced, which is great. I can’t wait for 240Hz QD-OLEDs to get cheaper to replace my ageing 144Hz VA.
