Corsair has launched its iCUE Link RX fan lineup featuring the daisy-chainable iCUE Link power system. The RX fans are built as a cheaper alternative to the original QX models while keeping their clean aesthetic.
The new iCUE Link RX series will be available in black or white and in 120mm or 140mm sizes. You will also have the choice between simple or RGB-lit versions of each, allowing you to choose the one that perfectly fits your build. Unfortunately, the non-RGB variants are currently only available in black. Neverthless, they use Liquid Crystal Polymer, which is better than usual fan plastics.
Starting at £24.99 per unit, the iCUE Link RX offers a more reasonable entry point to Corsair’s iCUE Link ecosystem. This means you get the daisy-chainable Link connection using a single cable for power and control without breaking the bank. They also use Corsair’s Magnetic Dome bearing said to create less friction, thus minimising noise while enhancing the fan’s longevity.
Regarding performance, the 120mm fans reach up to 2,100rpm resulting in 74.2cfm of airflow and 4.38 mmH20 of static pressure at 36dBA. The 140mm, on the other hand, rotates a bit slower at 1,700rpm, netting 95.7cfm of airflow and 3.79 mmH20 of static pressure, also at 36dBA.
Meanwhile, good news for those who care about power draw, as these fans consume less than their iCUE Link QX counterparts. The new iCUE Link RX 120 RGB series, for example, takes 0.66A instead of 1.02A on the QX equivalent. All while being £15 cheaper per 120mm fan.
The iCUE Link RX fans are available from Corsair’s website at the following prices backed by a five-year warranty. Starter kits include three 120mm or two 140mm fans alongside an iCUE Link hub.
