Nvidia’s driver UI is getting modernised.

Nvidia has announced that all driver and GeForce Experience features will be available on the new App this year. Following that, the remaining users will be invited to update to the new and modern UI layout.

Team Green continues implementing new features on its universal Nvidia App, with the aim to completely replace its driver control panel and GeForce Experience apps by the end of 2024. After this, Nvidia will shepherd the remaining GeForce Experience users over to its new software. It’s unclear, however, whether users will be forced to update or whether it’ll be optional.

“In future updates, we’ll continue to add the remaining Nvidia Control Panel options, with the goal of unifying the Nvidia Control Panel and GeForce Experience’s key features in one app, boasting new features and additional enhancements that deliver an even better experience for our users,” says Nvidia.

What is certain is that if legacy users get the choice to stick with ye old GeForce Experience, there won’t be any more updates to support it from a security or feature standpoint. Fortunately, migrating to the Nvidia App isn’t so bad. All settings and features will be available on the new software, just with a new home that requires you to re-learn the menus.

In any case, if the company respects its own deadline, it would have taken Nvidia less than a year to transplant all aspects of its original app into the new one.

The latest beta adds support for G-Sync controls, RTX HDR for multi-monitor setups, and an overlay showing system statistics. G-Sync controls will be available in the display settings section alongside resolution, refresh rate, and orientation, with plans to add Surround options and custom resolutions later. Meanwhile, the overlay now offers more customisation options to tailor the visible stats to your liking while notifying you when DRM content prevents ShadowPlay video recording.

Lastly, this update allows you to roll back to a previously installed driver. This option will become available after updating your Nvidia App.
