Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 will likely launch just before Computex

RTX 5060 could hit the streets the day after Nvidia hosts its Computex 2025 keynote.

The release of GeForce RTX 5060, the final addition to Nvidia’s current generation graphics card stack, fast approaches. While Team Green is yet to narrow their launch plans beyond a May 2025 window, a new leak claims to have pinpointed exactly when the pixel pusher will hit store shelves. Mark your calendars, it’s less than a month away.

According to Videocardz, Nvidia will release GeForce RTX 5060 on May 19. This is the day after company CEO Jensen Huang hosts their Computex 2025 keynote. The outlet claims the brand is in the process of communicating launch plans board partners, alongside details of the card’s embargo(es).

This announcement likely won’t come with any surprises, as Nvidia has already shared RTX 5060 specs, price, and performance estimates. It shares much in common with RTX 5060 Ti, right down to the die, but will only be available with 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM. As a reminder, there’s no Founders Edition to look forward to.

This relatively small memory capacity will impact RTX 5060’s ability to stretch beyond 1080p in many games. Even then, as examples like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle show, some settings will likely require tweaking for a playable experience despite the power of the GPU die.

This could give the likes of Arc B580 a leg up against RTX 5060, since Intel’s graphics card has 12GB of VRAM to play with. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to find at its MSRP right now on account of poor availability which shows no signs of improving for the moment.

AMD will likely be Nvidia’s primary concern for the immediate future. Team Red is apparently fast-tracking the Radeon RX 9060 XT release date, mirroring the crowded launch of RTX 5070, RX 9070, and RX 9070 XT which all arrived within a day of each other. To make matters worse for camp GeForce, recent rumours claim RX 9060 XT 8GB may not see the light of day.

I don’t expect we’ll hear an official word from Nvidia until its Computex keynote. Given the brand announced and subsequently launched RTX 5060 Ti in the space of 24 hours, it seems likely it will adopt the same strategy for RTX 5060.
