Hardware retailers have started listing their Nvidia RTX 5080 GPUs at some shocking prices. Those wanting improved cooling and features will have to pay much more.
First, we have a Finnish store listing eight RTX 5080 graphics cards – mainly from Gigabyte – between €1,229 and €1,669. Among these we find a WindForce 3 OC card at €1,229, followed by a Gaming OC at €1,419 and the Aorus Master at €1,529, culminating with the liquid-cooled Aorus Xtreme at €1,669.
As a reminder the official Nvidia MSRP for an RTX 5080 in Finland is set to €1,229, followed by the RTX 5070 Ti at €924 and the RTX 5070 at €679. This makes the highest RTX 5080 model on this list 35% more expensive than the Founders Edition. Ouch.
If you think these are some absurd prices, things are even worse for the French, as some retailers list Palit cards up to €1916.90, That’s 62% higher than the €1.179 MSRP. At this rate, checking aftermarket RTX 5090 prices could give you a heart attack.
Yes, these have chunky quad-slot monster coolers that should keep your card fresh and silent, but at this point, I’d rather put in an extra bit of cash to grab the much powerfull RTX 5090. The latter is expected to offer nearly double the performance and VRAM capacity.
But jokes aside, these high prices are mainly tied to fancy liquid-cooled or quad-slot cards. The regular and basic designs are identical or close enough to Nvidia’s set pricing, with a small premium for the different styles.
These will eventually be replaced with more expensive variants that leave higher margins for the manufacturer. And lastly, if you really want the cheapest version possible, Nvidia’s official store is right there for you while Founders Edition stock lasts.
