Nvidia shares complete list of RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti specs

RTX 5070 Ti looks like the sweet spot for Blackwell in this writer's eyes.

Nvidia has confirmed the specs of its RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti graphics cards. These mid-rangers will use different Blackwell GPUs and memory systems, explaining their price difference.

The brand has shared a document detailing the design of its remaining Blackwell chips and the improvements they bring over their predecessors. In it, we find a detailed spec list for the upcoming RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti that goes as follows.

As you can see, RTX 5070 Ti shares the same GPU as RTX 5080, clocked up to 2.45GHz. However, due to its lower core count – 8,960 against RTX 5080’s full execution of all 10,752 cores in the chip – RTX 5070 Ti should sit about 16.6% behind. The complete GB203 chip consists of 45.6 billion transistors and contains 84 RT Cores plus 336 Tensor Cores, able to handle up to 256-bit wide memory busses.

RTX 5070 on the other hand will carry 6,144 CUDA cores clocked up to 2.51GHz, based on the smaller GB205 GPU. This puts it 31.4% behind RTX 5070 Ti in terms of core count, making it the lowest desktop card on Nvidia’s current roster. Interestingly, RTX 5070 doesn’t use the entire GB205 chip as the latter packs 6,400 CUDA cores in total. In other words, about a 4% cut, so not a big deal. You can find more details here.

Now regarding performance, Nvidia claims that RTX 5070 Ti brings a 19% uplift in Resident Evil 4 and 22% in Horizon Forbidden West compared to RTX 4070 Ti. Similarly, RTX 5070 pushes 20% ahead in RE4 and 22% in Horizon compared to RTX 4070. Not bad at all considering that both Blackwell cards come $50 cheaper than their predecessors at $749 and $549, respectively.

For the time being, RTX 5070 Ti is rumoured to hit the market on February 20, but RTX 5070 has yet to get a date. Hopefully, these won’t suffer from the shortage high-end models are currently facing.
