It seems that AMD meant it when it declared going after market share. Bucking recent trends, Radeon RX 9070 series stocks seem to be aplenty as a UK retailer has shared pictures of a huge pile of graphics cards. With good prices compared to its competitors and stocks to satisfy initial demand, Team Red may soon climb in Steam Hardware Survey charts once more.
Overclockers UK has indicated that it has stocked thousands of Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards from multiple brands, covering different price tiers. The retailer announced having around 2,000 units from Sapphire, 1,000 from PowerColor, 1,000 from ASRock, and several hundred cards from Gigabyte and Asus. These are expected to cover the needs for a few days.
The retailer lists 13 different RX 9070 XT models from ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, PowerColor, and Sapphire. Prices range from £569.99 on models like the Steel Legend and Pulse to £799.99 on the fancy TUF Gaming and Red Devil. RX 9070, on the other hand, is available in ten models, again made by ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, PowerColor, and Sapphire. Prices for these range from £529.99 on the Pulse and Reaper to £649.99 on the Prime OC. All are backed by three years of warranty, except Gigabyte’s Aorus, which rocks four years.
With a mere 7% price difference between the cheapest models, I would go with RX 9070 XT since it offers over a 10% uplift over the RX 9070 in many games at QHD resolution.
That said, some MSRP models are limited to a few hundred units, meaning the price will jump after they sell out. For example, only ten ASRock RX 9070 XT will be available at MSRP, after which the price will jump to £649.99.
The staff member who shared the news also added that re-stocks and pricing going forward are unknown, especially considering the ongoing trade wars. Thankfully 1,000 units of the RX 9070 XT Pulse at £569 are available which should ensure a good supply for those looking for affordable options.
If you fancy getting one of these, Overclockers UK plans to open sales on March 6 at 14:00 GMT.
