PlayStation 5 has been in the headlines a lot lately. Sony execs say it’s entering the second half of its life in 2024. It’s still the most successful console of this generation by a country mile. Sony might not even keep exclusive games bound to the platform for life. The most recent development, though, is a hefty discount, bringing the latest PS5 Slim down to the best price we’ve seen.
With a 15% discount, the latest PlayStation 5 Disc version has a price as slim as its new frame. It now costs £409 in the UK; that’s £70 off its usual sticker price. You might be able to find some of the older, bigger models slightly cheaper, but those are virtually phased out at this point.
The disc model is dinkier at 358mm × 96mm × 216mm and lighter at 3.2kg than the previous version. This makes it much more likely that it’ll fit seamlessly into your TV cabinet, provided you like the black-and-white panda look.
This deal is for the base console without any games. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn’t have any bundles reduced in price. That said, there are plenty of games going cheap. You can get 57% off EA Sports FC 24 at £29.99, 60% off Star Wars Jedi: Survivor at £27.99, 13% off Hogwarts Legacy at £34.99, and 21% off the new Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora at £49.99.
Amazon categorises this as a limited-time deal, so you’ll need to act fast. You’ll have around a week to grab one before these expire or until stock runs out. Use a Prime subscription, and you could even get your new console as soon as tomorrow.
