We’ve all been on the edge of our seats since finding out GTA 6 will debut at some point in December. Now, Rockstar has pinned a date when we’ll be able to feast our eyes on the anticipated trailer.
The hype is certainly real, as Rockstar Games announced the first GTA 6 trailer will land on December 5 at 9am ET. For those in different time zones, that’s 6am PST, 2pm GMT, 3pm CEST, and the following day on December 6 at 1am AEDT.
As for what will appear, leaked footage suggests a distinct visual upgrade from Red Dead Redemption 2, which is always nice. From what we can gather, GTA 6 should take us back to Vice City and place us in the shoes of a Bonnie and Clyde-like duo of protagonists. If correct, it’ll be fairly nostalgic for returning players who’ll get to see the Miami-inspired city in all its glory.
You have just a couple of days to digest it before The Game Awards takes place on December 7. It’s likely a conscious decision, as Rockstar’s sequel would undoubtedly overshadow all the great announcements the event has in store. That said, fans usually judge games events harshly based on what appears, so it could’ve been a win. Either way, we’d be amazed if host Geoff Keighley doesn’t give it a nod.
Coming straight from the developer, there’s no risk of anyone pulling the wool over your eyes. After all, false reveals and leaks have led us astray over the past few months. This time, it’s the real deal. You just need to keep your excitement in check over the weekend.
